about
our mission
Virtus et Veritas (V2) Ministries cultivates authentic encounters with God & fellow man through adventure experiences and formation in virtue & truth to develop Christ-like leaders.
The Name
Virtus et Veritas is Latin for Virtue and Truth.
We believe our world is in a crisis of virtuous male leadership. Our culture not only understates the importance of virtue but even questions the concept of truth altogether. V2 Ministries seeks to address that problem by building
Virtue Through Adventure
history
In 2015, Toby Korensky founded Camp Virtus et Veritas, a week-long summer leadership camp for boys. It was modeled after a similar camp in the Diocese of Lincoln that his boys had been attending for years. When he finally found time to join them as an adult volunteer, the Holy Spirit began to radically open his heart to the great need for young men and fathers to encounter Jesus Christ personally and be formed in faith and leadership. With the blessing and support of the Archdiocese of Omaha, Camp Virtus et Veritas launched as a ministry of the Archdiocese of Omaha.
The response to the launch of camp was overwhelming—from 2015 to 2018 the spots began filling up in as little as three days which led to a waitlist to attend camp. The Holy Spirit continued to bless V2 leading to expanding the ministry in multiple ways: in 2018 to begin offering quarterly weekend adventures in addition to the week-long summer camp, in 2019 to expand from one to two full weeks of summer camp, and again in 2021 to add a new annual event, the High Adventure, serving young adult men.
It was clear that V2 had grown to be more than just a summer camp, but a growing apostolate dedicated to lifelong men’s leadership formation through adventure experiences. In 2021, Virtus et Veritas Ministries was officially formed as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, becoming an independent entity from the Archdiocese, with their full support.
