Deus, Primus! Deus, Primus!
|

This call-and-response chant, shared between our assistant directors, youth leaders, and campers, is still echoing in our ears as we wrap up another incredible summer camp season. Deus Primus, meaning “God First,” is more than just this year’s camp theme. It is the mission we have been challenged to embrace and carry back into our homes, schools, friendships, and daily encounters with others. God is the first cause, the mover of all things, and we are called to place Him at the center of every aspect of our lives.

Every year, we prayerfully select a theme and a saint whose life exemplifies the virtues found within that theme and rooted in Scripture. This year’s theme was Deus Primus: God First. In Luke 10:27, we are commanded to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind.” This verse served as the foundation for our camp experience and challenged us to reflect on how God is present in every area of our lives.
Our 2026 camp saint, St. Thomas More, provides a powerful example of what it means to live out this calling. Through humility, courage, and perseverance, he remained faithful to God even when doing so came at great personal cost. He chose to walk away from anything that stood between him and his relationship with the Lord, remaining steadfast in his faith despite tremendous challenges.
As we return to our daily routines after camp, the mission of Deus Primus continues. We are called not simply to remember what we experienced, but to actively live it out. By placing God first in our decisions, relationships, and priorities, we become witnesses to His love and carry the spirit of camp into the world around us. The challenge now is ours: to continue the mission and make God First each and every day.

Each month, the V2 community gathers together for prayer and worship through Eucharistic Adoration. For October, we will be joining St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church for their monthly Holy Hour on Thursday, October 29th at 7:00 pm.
Amid the distractions and demands of life, Eucharistic Adoration offers a sacred opportunity to quite our hearts, pray, and draw closer to Jesus. We invite you to join us as we spend time with Jesus in prayer and reflection.

Dear Friends of V2,
Since joining V2 Ministries in July, I have found myself reflecting often on all that God is doing through this ministry, and my heart is filled with gratitude.
During summer camp, I had the privilege of witnessing young men encounter Jesus in powerful and life-changing ways. Whether it was during Mass, around a campfire, in small group conversations, or through the grace of Eucharistic Adoration, I was continually reminded that God is at work in their lives.
As we look ahead, I have one request. Please pray for the young men we serve and their families, that they may continue to be attentive to God’s voice, discern their vocation faithfully, and have the courage to follow wherever He leads.
Pray for our volunteers and staff as we accompany them on their faith journey. And pray that V2 Ministries will continue to be a place where all men encounter Christ, deepen their faith, and experience His love in a profound way.
Thank you for your support, encouragement, and prayers!
With gratitude,
|

As we enter the month of October, traditionally dedicated to the Holy Rosary, we invite you to join us in praying this beautiful devotion for the needs of our world, our families, and our Church.
In a time when so many people are searching for hope and peace, the Rosary remains a powerful way to draw closer to Christ through the loving intercession of Our Blessed Mother. Throughout this month, let us pray especially:
-
For peace throughout the world and an end to violence and conflict
-
For the protection and dignity of every human life, from conception to natural death
-
For strength, healing, and unity within our families and communities
-
For the return of those who have wandered from the faith and for all lost souls to encounter the love and mercy of Jesus
Whether you pray a full Rosary each day or simply offer a decade, your prayers matter. Together, let us entrust these intentions to Our Lady and ask her to lead us ever closer to her Son.
“Pray the Rosary every day to obtain peace for the world.” – Our Lady of Fatima
